If the flowers you have inside do not open up in the morning, is the pollen on the inside still good to use? I had some flowers that did not open for me last year and was afraid somehow the pollen would not be any good. I did open a few flowers up and the pollen was nice and dry, I just did not know if the pollen would stick to where it needs to. Any suggestions?

Thanks, Mark G.

I nice warm air bath with a hair dryer, or a few minutes under an incadecent bulb and they open right up. The plant is programmed to open when they honey bees become active.

Mark, I always pick my flowers the night before and put them in a glass of water at room temp. They never open, however the pollen is nice and fluffy at 5:30 in the morning when I pollinate.

Linus, I hate to throw cold water on your theory, but pumpkins/squash were originally from the Americas and honey bees are from Eurasia and Africa. So, let's just say the flowers are programmed to open when the bees become active and let the native bees have their day.
