What is the prize money for growing a World Record pumpkin nowadays?
Just your local weighoff 1st place prize?

I think there's another small amount ($300?) if it is a GPC sanctioned weighoff....
It's the fame, the groupies, the 80k bubbles that will clog your mailbox hoping for seeds; selling the shell maybe to someone; and getting to be the Guest of Honor at Niagara not to mention the cool blazer.
Otherwise it's the first prize $ of whatever legally recognized weighoff you go to.

I got a ? for anyone that has grown a WR or a highly coveted seed. When you get a ton of bubbles like a lot. does the post office ask you to pick them up or do they bring it in one of those post office basket thingys.

Pat... nevermind. :)
Chris... if you have vatloads of mail and have to the door delivery, they will bundle it any way necessary to deliver it. If you are a REGULAR high volume, they might make other arrangements. Here we have to go to the post office to collect our mail, and they'd loan some of those white totes to get it to your vehicle...
Some weighoffs do pay quite a bit. That is why the sponsoring clubs have auctions and other activities to fundraise as well as finding sponsors.
