I want hear what seeds you would love to try if you had the room for 4 extra plants. I feel bad each year because I leave 4 good seeds in the box because I dont have the time or the room to try them what 4 do you wish you could plant. Here are my 4.

As I'm drawn to orange color producers, the following are tempting to me:

This year I'm thinking of going with 2-3 plants, and they may all come from the list above(Don't have the 670 though, but it's one seed I like). The 364.1 Andrews is the front runner in my mind at this point.

I like the 1015 Pierce ( 1092 Martin x 1502 Wallace ) The 1092 Martin went 10% heavy and the 1502 went I think 15% heavy and produce the 1307 Pierce.

1269 Hunt (901 Hunt x 1631 Mckie) - I'm going to try to work this one into my patch next year
1004 Mohr (772 Poirier x 1317 Rose) - Someone is going to grow a big one off this one in 2009
498 Van Hook (1385 Jutras x 1450 Wallace) - Another one that someone is going to grow a big one with
535 Zaychkowsky (810 Dill x 1370 Rose) - Size and color. A possible great combination in this seed.
882 Zaychkowsky (705 Stelts x 898 Knauss) - I'm looking forward to see what Eddy does with this seed this year. Very interesting cross.
1528 Starr (1350.5 Starr x 1041.5 Mckie) - If that 1350 can get some of the 1041 heavy into it then watch out.
1154.8 Doucet (1566 Rodonis x 1689 Jutras) - really wanted to work this one into this year's lineup but it will get it's turn.

We believe that we all have a sleeper seed in the crosses we've made over the years. Grow one of your own seeds that you feel is your best cross & see what happens. You never know what seed will be the next top performer.

Saying that, we like the 1269 Hunt too. The cross (F) 901 Hunt was 19%+ heavy & the (M) 1631.5 Mckie was 20%+ heavy. This cross has lots of 898 Knauss in it on the Hunt side, so I expect the offspring will go very heavy also. We will cross the 898 Knauss back into the 1269 Hunt this year, giving it 3 generations of 898 in it's background in the past 5 years (added every other year). Our hope is that the resulting seed will produce consistantly large heavy pumpkins for those who grow it. Good luck with your choices.
