Just signed up today, motivated by a request from the Indiana group (Kely Klinker) to join. I dont know much about it but it seems to be the new thing. Are there any other fellow pumpkin growers out there on it? It looks to be catching on world wide.

I'm there. Started mostly because my kids were there, and if I'm their "friend", I can monitor what they're up to if I'm there as well. Now, I find that it's not a bad way to keep up with family members and long lost friends.

I also manage my own giant pumpkin "blog": cliffsgiantpumpkin.blogspot.com Kind of slow this time of year, but it will pick up soon.

It's a great way to waste time.

I've been on it since the first of the year. If you log in and type in Giant Pumpkin under the search, there is a group for Giant Pumpkin growers.

And I agree with Cliff.......It is a great way to waste time.

I almost joined facebook...I might now since I know there are giant vegie growers..I had a myspace account a few years ago which is bassiclly a in-secure facebook...I found it to be a EPIC WASTE OF TIME...I found myself doing the same thing in a cycle over and over again...I rather be talking to the people here on bp.com in the chat.

Folks, as the IT Director for a company, I have to warn you, be careful with Facebook, Myspace and the like, do not accept any email, lots have been going around infected with virus, you really want to make sure that you back all of your data up externally, when you have to format your system you will be happy that you did it.
I know that there will be people that will say that they have been on these boards for whatever lenght of time without any issues, thats awesome, I hope it stays that way, this month alone I've had to format and reinstall 4 workstations due to virus.
This is just a heads up, now go have fun.

It's a little bit like a drug addiction - at first it's fun, exciting and different. But then it begins to consume all your free time and you find yourself spending more and more time logging in to Facebook. At least with BP.com you get a pumpkin in the end.
