Ladies and Gentlemen.
Please get a mamogram for the ladies and a prostate (PSA) for the guys.
Trying to keep growers alive.

Good post Bob. We do ours like clockwork. It's a pain, pardon the pun, but worth it.

Don't forget your colonoscopy. Every 10 years after age 50 if no family history of colon cancer, sooner and more often if you do. Unlike PSAs and mammograms, colonoscopies can actually clip off pre-cancers (polyps) and prevent cancer.

Having had smashograms and colonoscopies... do'em. Gals, it won't kill ya, and the benefits far outweigh the half an hour of being clamped into the machine in various positions. There are things that are far far far more unpleasant, trust me. I was in such high risk that they started mine at 35... so far things have been fine. For the gals, get the pap smear too every year. Even if they pulled most of the parts, you still need it.
I'd rather we had our growers live and healthier too, thanks Bob.

USPSTF recommends against screening PSA testing. Other organizations recommend it, but to date, there is no study that shows better survival by having it done. Mamograms have shown improved survival- definite above 50, probably between 40-50. Colonoscopy definitely every 10 years above 50 (if normal). PAP every 3years if 3 annual tests are normal (as a minimum). I've yet to see a male have a mamogram, but they can get breast cancer(usually palpable- it can be felt).
