lets say you got room for only 1, and you want to go exclusively for color and get those 1450 genes into a color cross. Would you plant the 1161 or 1566? what does your gut say?

there's not enough progeny data from the 1161 to make an educated guess, so let's make un-educated guesses since you can never predict color 100% anyway, lol

Pete,
I think we can only give a very uneducated guess on this, with only two 1161 progeny...that I've seen. What I like about the 1161 is that of the two progeny I've seen pictured, they seemed to have a nice structure/shape.
If I had to choose to grow only one, I would pick the 1161.
I'm sorry I'm not addressing color, but it would just be a wild guess from me.

I like the 1566 over the 1161 for big and orange. Just a guess.

Both 1566s I grew last year were nicely orange, my gut tells me you'll most often have orange with it. If I could only grow one it would be the 1566.

The 1566 has produced better color so far, but I think the 1161 will eventually be proven to grow bigger.

The 1161 was ORANGE, heavy, and nice shape. It hasen't been planted as much as the 1566. Bill

My 1566 was all white and weighed 1128Lbs. Crossed the 998 into it so i'm thinking it should have orange off spring...
