Ya run a fine line when you promote publicly one persons businesss over anothers.
My intention here is not to offend our other friends in the business but to make a statement regarding Tom .
Hes honest, fair and a great guy to associate with. He has helped the SNGPG in past auctions and is also a member of our club. For that our members owe him consideration.

Dick, it may be prudent to lobby Ken to have a vendors message board so we can divert competitive advertisement from encroaching on our discussion boards. I would also hope that Vendors who place such ads are supporting the site monetarily to help ensure the survival of this great site.

The GVGO has a vendors list that is published for growers to use as a reference tool when searching for supplies. The smae can be done done here.

Well, since there isn't a vendors message board, I don't think there's a problem! Tom has a great website and I know lots of growers utilize it to get their supplies. Yes, there are other places to get supplies too, but there's also half a dozen places I could get a gallon of milk on my way home from work.
I don't know any monetary arrangement between Ken and Tom, because that is a private matter between the two of them. I do know that Tom is in chat frequently, helping out growers whenever possible. I also know that he ran the 2008 online auction to raise money for bigpumpkins.com. If those two things in themselves aren't considered contributing to this website and the hobby, then I don't know what is!

Tom has that ad up in the upper right on the chat boards which I think means he's helping pay for some of our blathering. He helps out a lot of us in many many ways.

Maybe one post a month if there's no vendor/dealer/supply board?

I've seen Joel Holland and others post here too, so nobody with the goods is being denied space.

Tom has proven to me to be a selfless person. I've ourchased from his store and I find the deals there to be very competitive. You go Tom!

Great site run by one of the nicest giant pumpkin growers I have ever come to know! I know Tom does this first to help fellow growers and the sport out. I doubt hes paying his mortgage with it. ID be willing to bet he doesnt even make minimum wage off this venture. Thumbs up here for Tom.

I have no problems with vendors posting here. Their posts are a drop in the bucket compared to all the crazy posts we have to put up with many times. General Discussion is the board everyone reads, its the best place to advertise and make us aware of whats out there.

Vendors post´s might be right now drop in sea on general discussion board but what about year from now? I just looked my chrystal ball and I can see how vendors are competing daily basis on general board competing on tougher markets...
