Congrats to Manuel Valencia and the California growers for putting on a great Seminar on Saturday. A new grower walking into that seminar would have been greeted in a very friendly manner. They would have gained the knowledge and tools to be successful in growing a giant pumpkin their first year, and would have received a good number of quality seeds as well. The growers panel of Leonardo Urena, Gary Miller, Michelle Lofthouse, Ken Mitchell, and Vince Zunino answered every question put to them in easy to understand terms. A new grower had the opportunity to gain many years of knowledge in a single day! Although many of the seeds were free, an auction for some very select seeds was included as well. Hall of Famer, Pete Glacier, expertly pointed out the potential of each seed with help from Geoge Webster, who also video taped the event. I was glad to be able to attend.
