I agree I diagnosed two cases this week. Get a colonoscopy if you are alive and >50 Get your prostate and PSA checked if you are a male >45 Get a mammogram if you are a female >40 Quit smoking

I've lost many - but before we knew it was cancer we were dying of other diseases - it won't go away - people die - that's life

The goverment could do this if they wanted to. Look how many Doctors and drug companys would be out of business if they come up with a magic cure of taking a few pills and your cured. My dad had cancer for eighteen years before it finally took over and we lost him. Even my dad's Doctor told us that the oil companys own the Pharmaceutical Companies and they make billions on cancer treatments.

Oncology is a business we would be hard pressed to see disappear (not that putting a price on life is OK). God willing, some day it will.

Backing up Brian C:
If you are considered high risk, you may be asked or it'll be suggested you start the screenings earlier, do it!
To you gals, having a mammogram is not something to be scared about. It's not painful, honest, a few bits aren't 'pleasant' but. It's well worth having it done. Get that pap smear too (not anything to do with Pap Wallace).
Colonoscopies aren't that bad either, again it is well worth having it done. Just if you have to *drink* the barium, get it as COLD as you can and drink FAST.

I Just went through my 5th Therapy session yesterday as a matter of fact. Bladder Cancer....am only 50..Doc blames it on my smoking cigs.... I quit three years ago April first. They took a 3cm tumor from my bladder last Feb..... 3 weeks before Niagara.
Not fun at all.
Go to your DOC, GET IT DONE, and try to stop smoking......but never stop drinking......or growing pumpkins.
