Adam, there's a few good growers not too far from you. We'll also be doing a beginner's seminar early April a little outside of Ellicottville. I'll post the details when I get everything set. We'll have lots of free seeds there.

Adam: I have a pile of great seeds from NY state Pumpkin growers association. More than I will be able to grow in my life time. Would be happy to share them with you. Send me your address to [email protected]. Jeff Borton

i am 25 yrs old
right now my patch size is about 50' x 50' but i bought a new chainsaw and im currently clearing brush i hope to clear at least an acre for the patch. i think if i get any bigger than that i wont be able to get enough material (compost and manure) to improve all the soil. there are some larger trees on the east side of the patch that i'm cutting down to get more light to the plants.

O I see Adam, sounds like you have everything in order. I know a guy up in your area but he's older thats why I ask. Stay up to date on this site the info is invalueable, well some of it is, some people just run off at the lip and have nothing to add.

to be honest, i dont really know how big an acre is. My property all together is 7 acres and i figure i can get 1/7th of it cleared. My dad likes to tinker so he's in and i am hoping to recruit more family members for help.
