Okay, with the following rules, who would be in?
1. Open to anyone 2. Guess the weight of your largest pumpkin grown in 2009 by January 31, 2009 here on bigpumpkins.com. We can start a thread in weighoffs or something. 3. Take the weight of your official largest pumpkin by GPC rules from an Official weighoff. 4. Date of the weigh in does not matter as long as it is in 2009. That way southern hemipshere growers can participate. 5. No cash as an entry fee, rather items from local areas (for instance, 5 pounds of hazelnuts from Canby Oregon) 6. Color is not considered, if you grow a squash as your largest, it counts. 7. Whoever guesses closest to their top weight is the winner. All 'entry fees' are then sent to the winner. This keeps things simple.
I believe this can be kept track of on a simple excel spreadsheet.
What does everyone think? If we can get 20 people involved, lets do it.

I think we should place a minimum weight of 500 pounds to avoid any cheaters though.

Count me in...2 pints of home grown strawberry preserves, and 6 bulbs of home grown garlic. Being realistic, and trying to avoid a 2nd year of the infamous cap, I say 747#. With the way the Ky. boys been goin, I still might wear the cap again with that weight!!! LOL Peace, Wayne
