We heard about this church that rents out plots for a donation. I saw the the church also owned a small feild and it had perfect sun anlgle ....or however it is described.....i am sorta interested in this spot becuase it is only 20 minutes from my house. I started thinking they will never let me grow on a spot that big. So my mom sugested that a present what I would like to do to the leaders of one of the church. I have a couple of ideas on promising I will turn everything back to normal when I am done....Any other ideas....I know there are some growers on here that grow on other land...

Tahnk you to anyone who replies.

I have had a friend who had a bad experence when I was in college with the renting from a church. The Decan decided that he wanted the produce for him I mean the church)

If you do get to use their land make sure u get something Written down that says they can't pick anything.(this is important) Remember just because they are a church dosen't mean they are looking out for you.

Don't pay cash, Always pay by check and at the memo bar put what it is for. Then get somthing in writing that you paid.

Here are some idea's
Do they have a Halloween party or Fall Bazar You could supply a certain percentage of your produce to them.
Supplying pumpkins like jackolanterns to the Halloween/ fall festivel will make u look good.(BUT tell them that you and only you will harvest the produce.) and only you will give em the produce. this is so people dont pick your produce to "help you out"

Dont mention prize money, I have had problems with this in the past.

You could turn the area into a community garden. growing for yourself and those in need.

there is safety in numbers so ask the other renters if they like the gardens.
email me at [email protected] and I will be glad to help u out.

I grow on a garden not mine so I have a lot of stories and advice.

I dont know. Sounds like a high traffic area. I would be uneasy knowing that my patch was in a area where everyone could see. I would try to find another area.Imho

thank you ccw it is already rented out for a donation...This would be a last resort place for me...You are right nic.... I have plenty of time till fall to find a patch...I do thank anyone talking about there experiances....We heard about this form a trusted family friend we have known for many years...her husband gets a plot very year....we where just thinking about getting a plot from there to grow tomato's and some other stuff....Since the only sunny area we have in our yard goes to my one plant.

I would try and keep two pumpkins growing on the pumpkin plant and offer him one at the end of the year. I grow at a community garden, neighboring gardeners and there friends, passerby's, like to come and look at the pumpkin once it gets going. My pb is only 237 but people were still shocked at how big it was, some brought cameras to take pictures. Soil test, your wasting your time if you don't have a soil test done.

Based on the way the Federal Reserve is writing checks they can't cash.....no one may have any money by the summer of 2010!!
