PNWGPG will even buy mailing insurance for you, if you wish, for $5. You'd hate to buy that 985 Werner and have the post office lose it.

...or, break it? ;-) (It's been known to happen.)

Perhaps declaring at the beginning of the auction that unless otherwise noted $Five dollars$ should be added to the winning bid to purchase mailing insurance.....

I know last year I was really worrying about sending out a $300 single seed.......and trusting ole US Postal .....

Would folks go for this?.... because....I may just add it in to the RMGVG auction......One could always say...NO WIZ just send my 1068 Wallace in the post......it will make it.....sure would make me feel better about if it does get lost....

I fear the day that someone says Hey I didnt get my auction seed.....whereZ it at....After ItZ been put it in the mail.....

I have had my share of 'manglemail' or getting a few tatters in a clear plastic bag with the little note of 'oops sorry we goofed' .

And I have made them have to pay up for mashed mailers.

Announce at start that insurance is $5 more and strongly suggest it.

Should the buyer have to pay for the insurance? or should it be the seller who is responsible for getting the seed to me the buyer.

I just got a buuble back that looks like someone had it in there pockets all day...I really have lost faith in our new mail man. He is always giving people wrong mail. One time he dropped a envolope with a check in it on the neighbors lawn.

We will announce the $5 add on fee early and often during the auction. It will be an option for people to add it on after they have won a bid, it will not be automatic.

Shannon brings up an interesting question. It is the club's responsibility to mail the seed in good packaging, but we cannot be responsible for the post office once we have mailed the seed. Our club just wants to offer the buyer a chance to recoup his losses if the PO loses or destroys the seed.
