Honored

• Joel Holland won an all-time record for his 1,462-pound pumpkin at the Morgan Hill, Calif., weigh-off. It earned $5 a pound. He credits its 30-pound-a-day peak growth to using mycorrhizal fungi on the roots, plus organic fertilizers.

organic or not, I wouldn't use anything called "blossom buster" on pumpkins. sounds scary!

Actually it's blossom 'booster' and I used it for the first time this year. Among other things it's supposed to aid in seed formation. I grew two fruits this season. One had 375+ seeds and the other had 400+ seeds. No complaints here! I'll use it again next season! Congratulations, Joel on your organic achievements!

I'm not so sure the blossom booster is organic....

lol...I thought I typed "booster". With that formula I was thinking "buster". It must of worked for Joel. According to his fertilizer program you start using it 1x a week in the middle of June through September.
