The Centers for Disease control has released an Orange Fever warning for the United States, Canada and parts of Europe. Signs of orange fever are compulsive discussion board reading on bp.com, sending out more bp envelopes in December than Christmas cards, compulsive research on aggc.org and writing long rant posts on bp.com about anything and everything. The CDC reports that Orange Fever can be caused by having to spend time with the family rather than time in the patch, not having enough stamps for a seed envelope, lack of good posts on bp.com in over an hour, no reply on a seed request and lack of a good patch tour in 6 months.
The CDC reports that the current outbreak should end around April. Sigh. To long for this writer.

In a related story, the CDC also publically announced that gummy stem blight has spread to humans... one can only guess the mode of crossing the gap between curcubita to animal. Although it was rumored that an infected victim, a pumpkin grower, was quoted as saying "How was I to know that she would turn back into a pumpkin after midnight?"

So THAT'S what that was. Penicillin cured it though.
