"Breeder" is the only one plant breeding game I know. It is product of Wageningen University (Netherland). In case you do not know it - try it. It will be very useful for all plant breeding beginners. The game is very simple, yet realistic - copy-pasted: "The engine of the game is a realistic (Mendelian) genetic model with linkage and recombination, topped off with some random noise."

I believe this game will help to many AG growers=breeders answering them some questions.

Download the latest version (3.0) at:
http://www.plantbreeding.wur.nl/NL/software_kwekersspel.html#English

Read this:
http://www.plantbreeding.wur.nl/UK/software_breedinggame_explanation.html

Note that the game has 3 levels. You can change them before the game (until you press the "Start!" button)

Here you can download the older version 2.3 (in case you want to try it). It is like level 1 of version 3.0

I hope this will be helpful for you... Enjoy...

I played the game and after reading the direction three times I belive I am still kinda confused. When playing I just picked the tallest red plant.

The gameplay is simple, but the genetics is not. The most useful thing of this game is to show you the real behaviour of the segregating genes.

You can select not only tall red, but and:
1 or more tall + 1 or more among the shortest possible, then cross shortest and tallest (at least one of them must be homozygous red). This usually results in extra tall plants. Every result above 195 average is very good result (it is not so easy to achieve it). There are and many other workable strategies, but it is hard for me to explain them with my poor English. In short - there are some rules, but and a lot shots in the dark.
