I grew some gourds this year and my dog keeps breaking the tops off. (They were birdhouse gourds.) I want to try to dry them so I am not wasting anything I grew. Is there any good way to dry the top and the bottom of the gourd, so I can turn them into things? (I would like to make a birdhouse that the top comes off of it.) Right now I have them inside sitting in front of the woodstove.

Rafters of a garage works the best...Wood stove method you might loose a few and have a stinky mess.
Takes a while..

In the past I've just put them in the basement and forgot about them. It's cool and dry, and in the spring they're fine.
