This sounds familiar. I would suggest maybe asking established growers for some non-proven seeds that have potential. Going after the top three growers every year is arrogant and annoying to most on this site who have contributed to the community. I would suggest you try Home Depot.

Chief piss piss people off, why is it the only time you participate in any postings is to give people s--t, woa, I caught myself, thats where those green bay packers come from aint it, wisconsin, the cheese everything state. I'm twice as old as Jordan, I know, this is not the same address I go to to attend my Mensa meetings,,between my high I.Q. and yours there's got to be at least a 1068 difference. Now I did'nt go and piss on your cheesey team you call a football team, and I actually came here to learn about growing giant pumpkins cause I enjoyed doing it and yes if I want to act like a 3 year old while I'm doing it, I'll do it... If you really want to give advice Rob T. why are'nt you stressing the importance of soil, soil testing, if he's fairly new and has'nt had the 1500 pounder yet and has had some good seeds, would'nt the problem be the soil or the grower! given him s--t really solves the problem, you all sound more like 10 year olds. Mr. D, you ment that sarcastically, half the world has been layed off, I know, I'm one of them, Jordan sounds young, you know, are you old, can you remember starting out, no money, just a kid, I'm thankfull and feel fortunate for what I do have, believe me if I win the powerball or come in touch with a million or two I will be sure to come back here and buy every seed that has ever existed, jack the price up at all the auctions, and leave you all dangling from your balls, just trying to get seeds. This was all ment in good fun, thank you

So you think your big and bad cause another turkey days come and gone and your still strutting around, I know what would happen if you made me and Jordan tag team partners (yeah, you asked for it Jack), first we would win like ten weigh offs in a row, and you silly little wouseys would come up with something like "your only aloud to win like ten in a row and thats it" and then point to some statue dash this dash that in the common wealth hand book stating, no one can possibly be that bad (that means good to you pencil neck geeks out there who are reading this, go ahead, take notes) of a pumpkin grower", then I would have to get a manager to handle the scum, wanna be's that dares to come any where close to our presense, ora, 50 mile vacinity for that matter, a ex beauty queen, maybe named Ms. Pumpkins (who also can kick butt in pumpkin growing),no, you don't even want to think about messing with Jordan and I. Well that was fun writing,,,he he he, laugh. (yes, I made it up, don't take it seriously)

It is up to each of you what you do with the information. I try to act respectfully on this site and within the community. I rarely ask for much. I do my best to either pay back or pay forward whereever possible. I still think it is arrogant.

Rob T, what part of asking for contact info is arrogant. Your reading something into a post that isn't there. Saying their annoying to most people on this site that contribute, Don't put words in my mouth, I contribute as much as most, and more than some, and I don't find it a bit annoying. I find it refreshing, after all they are our future, and these annoying, arrogant people, will be looking after you and your country before you know it.
My problem is, There are a few young growers on this site that continually get bashed by " grown up Professionals" It's embarrasing, reading how adults stoop to a lower stature than the people their trying to ridicule. Eddy

Mr Z, Thanks you for saying what I feel is very true too. My dad always laughs when he reads this stuff. He tells me that everyone acts like they are changing the world or they have the moral high ground because they grew a 1000 pound pumpkin.

Guys it takes 10 times the will power to not reply when someone makes a request that you might think is out of line. Let the people who are being asked to get contacted decide. Just let it go, certain things might be annoying in certain posts but just ignore it. Sometimes I think the people that started all of this giant pumpkin growing madness wish the internet was never invented as it turns some people into very nasty people when typing on a computer. Please try it the next time someone posts something your not in agreement with, including this post.

Frank you are funnnnnneeeeee! Nobody cares what I think but since it is an open forum I will add my two cents. Many of the people on bigpumpkins seem to think that they are lifting themselves up by putting others down. I appreciate Steve Connolly, Kevin Marsh, Ron Hoffman, Pap and espically Tom Bochia and all the really great men and women out there who have helped me to grow a big-un! The future is unkown and we who have been helped by great people on this and other web-sites will remember and will share what we have with others. I appreciate Eddyz and others for spelling it out to those of you who are so full of yourself. In the words of Rodney King....Can't we all just get along? If I could help Jordon Grimes out I would. I think that the big three mentioned would feel that way also.

"Mr. D, you ment that sarcastically, half the world has been layed off,"
No Really i have no problem with Jordan at all, or with you. its a fact Chad sent the VGVGA his seeds to help with our auction. Im sorry that you got layed off.times are tough and i hope you can find work soon..I have been there its not fun.
I have no idea what Jordan's financial statement looks like.maybe he could ask his parents for money as a Christmas present to help with his giant pumpkin growing hobby.
But if you do win the powerball PLEASE jack up all the auction prices you can!!!! that would be very nice of you..!! after all that's the point to raise money to help giant pumpkin growing clubs!

This could have been a very short post if anyone read the very first sentence ...."I am looking for the contact information of Steve Connolly (1568 grower), Chad Revier, and Jake Van Kooten" It doesn't look like his post has been answered. It is after all, his request. Hope you find your answers and grow a big one next year Jordan !!
Good Luck !

I guess an opportunity is an opportunity. I should leave it at that. If I busted my butt to grow a world class pk in I would think that maybe I should not be innundated with requests but that will never occcur here. No disrespect, but I have taken another avenue, one that respects growers and their seeds. If I ask, I will grow it, If declined, I will suck it up. It is up to you who you distribute seeds to. I just saw a trend. Go for the top three every year and if you get seeds, fine. I would not do that. So tie a cross to my back and walk me up the mountain and poke a hole in my spleen. Glad it helps the cause.

How many people on this site, have messed up a time or two in their life, and people cant forget and let it go. I have for sure, yet no one on here makes me pay for it any time I ask for help. Why is Jordan any different. How many people have asked for seeds and never planted them? I say I would rather give up a good seed for someone who really has a dream to plant it, then have it collect dust and never see soil. Heavy hitters alike have tough years where they lose a good seed due to something beyond their control.

Richard, its attitudes like yours that cause problems as well. The term if you have nothing nice to say, then say nothing at all applies to most of the posts on this thread.
