Can anyone shed some light on some white spots that I'm seeing on my seeds? They are large enough to be mature seeds, but am concerned that they are not. I'm definetly going to test germinate some of the seeds, but just worried that they are not mature enough? Are these seeds ok to use? I'm drying them now and will test germinate some as soon as I can. I also noticed inside the pumpkin a few seeds had already sprouted with the white spots on the outside, so assumed they are ok seeds? Has anyone seen this and can shed some light? Thanks...

They're fine. Happens every now and then.

Hi
I have one pumpkin with white (1/2) seeds. they seem ok.
However.. the 699.5 cross I had at Pumpkinville. The seeds are huge. Not sprouting.. but enormous seeds. Both in length and thickness. They are not sprouting.. just big seeds. They are drying now. Does seed size mean I have a good cross there?LOL

I have opened a few seeds with white spots at the tips, and they all have smaller cotyledons. They didn't fill out to the end of the shell, but they still seem to grow OK.

some of my mature seeds from my 357.5 have white spots on them.

Even though i am not growing my seed, i am still drying and keeping them for the future, and giving them to guys at work. Since it was an open pollination, i wont try growing them.
