What a great day it was with beautiful sunny skies and a good crowd on hand. I would like to Congratulate Jake on his worlds biggest pumpkin this year and thank him for bringing it to our weighoff ,for people to see what a
1536 lber looks like. Thanks for all your help Saturday.
Congats to Craig Sandvik for his winning entry, that was one helluva pumpkin. Special thanks goes to Art and Geraldine Kelly for helping putting together the certificates and helping out at the weighoff. You guy's are always so helpful every year at the festival. Also My wife for putting up with me and putting countless hours with Sarah Sherman and Karen Streeter from the Viex. Without them this event wouldn't have been possible.
Also would like to thank Glenn Dixon and his Dad from the North Shore in Vancouver for making the trek over to the Island. It was great to see you and your dad, and I know with all your effort and dedication you put into this sport you will be rewarded with a monster very soon. You are a genuine nice guy and wish you all the best next year. Cameron Carnegie and his Mom also made the trip over from the mainland. It was nice to see you guy's again. Hopefully Cam will grow again in the future.
This festival will probably be held in early October next year, with hopefully more prize money and more pumpkins entered. Until next year
