I am bouncing the idea of going to Niagara to the conference this year and my wife would like to go also. Being from NC we get some snow and ICE and driving in the snow doesent bother me as long as its not to bad. My wife would rather drive then fly (never flown). I wouldnt want to drive my Jeep up since the fuel milage sucks and it would kill my tires so it would be in the wifes car and its not to much on the snow. If any of you have drove up from down south how is the interstates or would flying just be the ticket? Thanks in advance. Rick

Max, I just below ya and think the very same thing. If we drive we will be driving a honda. My better half wants to go as well so were trying to figure this thing out. Three years ago I drove to Niagara we so friends and we did see any snow around that time of year.

I have driven 2 times and flown once. Last year was the only time the weather was an issue. A freak snow storm made it interesting.

I always rent a car if I go on long trips. That way if anything goes wrong you're not on your own - you've got the rental company to help out. Plus it saves the wear and tear on your personal vehicle. Gas mileage...my vehicles aren't all that efficient, so in this day and age I always recoup my car rental fees in gas savings. I love to fly but the costs make it pretty much out of the question for me. And in Michigan your insurance on your personal vehicles transfers to your rental vehicles. Thus since I have full coverage on my truck I have full coverage on the rental car automatically. That way I save the $25 per day rip-off "insurance" that the rental places try to sell you.

Either way, however you can get to Niagara, just get there! You won't regret it.

Unless you're driving there in the middle of a big snow storm like there happened to be last year, there's not going to be snow and ice to drive through.

That sounds good everyone, driving will be alot more cost efficient even with gas prices pretty high although it just dropped to 2.99 a gal. here this morning. Thanks for the replys. Rick
