Ok I have a question that I hope someone can answer maybe someone with gpc ties or someone who knows the answer.

I was at the longmont weigh off and they told me that they did not have a Howard Dill Award, the owner (good guy he is) even told me that Longmont pete would have won it if they had a pretty pumpkin contest".

So my question is, Is the Howard Dill Award only for a few weigh offs like the ones that pay the $300 fee or is the ribbbon handed/mailed to all weigh offs. I know that most people dont consider me a desent grower(because of my pb of 453 in 06) But I really hope that some one helps me find the answer.

Capt'n,
The GPC does not require there to be a Howard Dill Award at each site. Instead, the sites can decied for themselves if they want to award one and if so, they alone can set the rules to determine how to award it.

Last I knew, any full paying GPC site is sent the entire package with the ribbons for placing and the Howard DIll award (last year, ribbon, this year plaque). The decision is entirely up to the site coordinator how they give it, but being the prettiest and most perfect is big time considerations.

According to records, The Flower Bin should have received the full compliment of awards but Colorado is Joe Scherber's area. I'll send him an email.

Thanks Tremor,
The reason I am going through so much trouble is for Longmont Pete he deserves this award. I know he has wanted this award for a while. And his pumpkin was the prettiest at the weigh off. Even the owner of the flower bin don said it himself.
I would love for pete to get the award maybe before his pumpkin is carved. So I'll take all the help i can get.
