1568+100=1668
1668+100=1768
1768+100=1868
1868+50=1918
The 1568s estimated weight was about 1900 so that makes it about 335 light

Congratulations to Steve Connely for the win at Frerich Farms with a 1568! It takes a herculean effort any given year to win this weigh-off.

If it weighed what it measured, where did all this talk of 1900 lbs come from? It was in the papers and tv and everything, so what's up?

Great Job Steve on a monster of a pumpkin. I think thats in the top 5 of all time. An incredibel feat! Biggest pumpkin this year??

I guess as they say, "Thats why they play the game". You just never know. 13% off is not all that uncommon. People have to remember that just 10% off on a estimated 1900 pound pumpkin is 190 pounds! It really adds up in a hurry at those huge wieghts.

Thanks everyone for the words of encouragment. I really appreciate it. I also respect the rules of the game, and the correct call was made, by two extremely qualified inspecters. The very small crack on the bottom did go through to the seed cavity. I wish I had seen it earlier. I need a rest. Also I and the SNGPG growers wish the West Coast Growers the best in their upcoming weigh-offs at HMB and Elk Grove and The Terminator etc.
I posted a pic in the photo gallery of the Beast in the Trailer during the long drive.

2 more 1,500+ pound pumpkins grown by 2 great growers! Congratulations to Steve and Joe.

The GPC results show the 1,507 as #1 and the 1,568 as an "E". Does anyone know what happened to Steve's 1,568?

hey you

Greencastle, PA

Andy Wolf told me that the 1568 was 421" OTT.... that's nowhere near 1800, much less 1900

sounds like a hoax to me... Steve and the SNGPG guys have some SERIOUS explaining to do

Wow awsome job guys. You guys inspire us starters. The fact you where able to grow anything that huge is a miracle (and hard work of course). Thank you for showing us all that 1500 is the next acheivable benchmark, after our PB of course.
