Hi I want to thank everyone responsible for the fun and successful weigh-off at Pumpkinville. It was a great day! A day well spent meeting new growers and talking to those I have met before.
Today, my 699.5 specimen was hauled over to Letchworth School where Iam a teacher in the high school. The elementary school conducted a fun guess the weight contest. the kids had a great time looking my modest specimen over and guessing what it might weigh.
I think we will have a whole new group of possible young pumpkin growers next spring. The kids really want to give it a try! Watching the kids out my window was a real hoot!
Days like Pumpkinville and today at school are like icing on the fun cake of growing. Next spring cannot come soon enough!!

BILLP, 699.5 is not a modest specimen...it is a MONSTER...IMHO...I would dare to guess that the kids thought it was a MONSTER!!! I am sure that the wow's and grins on the kid's faces convinced you of that...be proud...VERY PROUD of yer accomplishment this year!!! Peace, Wayne

Bill: It was truly a memorable day. I was there with my son at his first weigh-off. Like he said to have Andy W and Joe P measure his fruit and the Mc Bro's stage it for weighin' was an honor. Grandkid's loved the event, especially the cow train!

yes it was a great time, I will def. attend again next year even if i dont have a fruit to bring. Also a pleasure meeting and talking to you Bill.
I find it truly amazing how big some of the growers (including you carl) can get your pumpkins.
My first year, seeing my 357.5 pounder in my city backyard i thought was a good first year fruit, then seeing it compared to the heavy hitters, i was in shock.

Thanks to all that came as spectators and competitors.
The weather couldn't have been better - I think we're still owed a few nice years after the snowstorm that first year anyway, haha.
It wouldn't have been possible without the help of the growers themselves pitching in to give a hand at making things work like a well-oiled machine each year.
