Not sure if the two mix. I had about 5 lbs left and broad casted it with winter rye and hairy vetch. Hoping it will colonize on the roots and be ready to roll come spring.
Probably will still reinoculate in the spring

I do not think Myco will make it through the winter.

It will carry over in most living roots, whether the plant is dormant or not, makes little difference from what I have read and learned on this subject.

Remember this is naturally occuring in our soils but over the years we destroyed it. Now if we are to get the population back up again less tilling and using cover crops is the best way to begin.

Just my two cents worth- when I removed my vines I cut each vine root at the node to keep underground roots intact. The theory is that some of the myco population will remain to be re-colonized in the Spring.

This website lists rye grass as one that myco can colonize.

From what I understand most of the mycorrhizal doesn't make it through the winter but it's spores do. I would believe there would be some gain by putting it down now but maybe not a lot.

I might go as far as not tilling this spring and cut the cover crop with my lawn mower. Cover the top with about 3" of compost
