I knew I was in for a treat when I pulled into the lot and saw trailors from Ohio,Iowa and Pennsylvania. I introduced myself to a familiar face but could not remember his name. As we shook hands, he said hi, I'm Don Young...I thought oh s&*%$!! I'm in trouble. Some of the big boys showed for this one. Young, Rose, Brunst,Stelts, Werner were there. I truly felt in awe of these growers.
I told my wife it was like seeing a movie star or professional athlete in person. I talked to a few of the big growers which was just to cool. They offered tips, advice and even rumors!! I even got big-timed by a grower. It was all good. Best looking truck pulling a trailor award goes to Jerry Rose. Best low-rider truck hauling a pumpkin award goes to Nick and Christy!! The weigh-off was a blast, I enjoyed myself tremendously. Everyone owes it to themself to take a p-kin to a weigh-off and experience some of the same things I did. I look forward to growing for many years to come.

Garden State Pumpkins

I'm always in awe of the "Big Guys". I don't think they realize that other new growers are in awe of their accomplishments. It's always amazed me that these people treat every grower the same...You never have to be in the "huge" club. They seem to remember they were once where you are...Greatest group of people I've ever met! Get to Niagara once and you will see what I mean.
