Subject: pumpkin gutts?

when cleaning out these giant pumpkins, and removing all the seeds from all the gutts of these things, can the gutts be thrown in the patch or should they be thrown in the trash?

There really isn't a lot of material in a giant pumpkin, but it would be best to put them on your compost pile.

Unless you want to control any possible pumpkin borne disease cycle... I sent all my pumpkin trash to the landfill this year. Next year is going to be intense and I don't want anything...

I always eat a few handfuls then toss the rest anwhere I want to spread calcium & potash. Unless the fruit went down to disease there is little chance of spreading disease.
