I have searched the website and have found nothing, so if there is something, just post a link, or offer some advice. How to you clean and shine your pumpkin for the weigh-off?

10% bleach solution with water to clean....vegetable oil (olive oil) to bring out the colour.

technically, using oils on the pumpkins is discouraged as it is a foreigh substance. Some weighoffs frown on it. It does make one super nice looking pumpkin though!

If you want to avoid disqualification, I wouldn't apply any oil or wilt-pruf(parafin wax) to your fruit. That does violate the foreign substance clause. don't forget to wash all chemicals off the pumpkin. Don't make the judges have to handle the fruit with chemicals on them.

I agrre with the tree doctor...apply the color and wilt proof after the weigh-off. Olive oil really brings up the color...just to hard to handle.
