My pumpkin will not be a world beater, she's a looker though. Can I enjoy her off the vine for awhile before the seeds go bad? Say a week perhaps?

If the pumpkin is sound and the weather is not too warm 6 weeks is not out of the question. We have gone as far as 8 weeks with a solid early fair pumpkin and the seeds were ok. Just keep inspecting the pumpkin and if anything looks soft or bad take the seeds out immediately. John

I always save mine for halloween. I carve them for jack-o-lanterns the week or so before and the seeds are just fine.

Shaker if you keep her dry and in a cool place she will last all winter, that is what they are grown for !! there is a great artical in the sngpg news letter about this topic if you are not a member yet you should be! the info for pumpkin growers that is packed into these new letters is incredable !!

Thanks folks, I just wanted to make sure on this one. My pumpkin may not be as large as I would have liked, but thats from rookie mistakes. I'm learning about genetics and I know now I will have good seeds and didn't want to lose them.
