Ive got a back yard full of sguash-pumpkins vines of all kinds. I have had no problems with borers ever. Is it safe to compost the vines or am I asking for trouble with overwintering nasties? It gets plenty cold here, so lots of things won't overwinter but I want to be safe. I cut my biggest ag last night. almost 400. I had thought I was bigger for a while but I measured wrong. Still 400's not too bad for the first go round. This site has been a huge help thanks for all the help!

I wouldn't compost the pumpkin plant. To much risk of bad stuff surviving. Unless you can get the compost nice and hot, which there is no guarantee, I would suggest not composting it.
