The Wiz got a nice segment on the highest rated local morning news show in the U.S. today. He was on with Eddyz, a nice bright orange 900 pounder that is headed to the Ronald McDonald house after the weigh-off. He gave a nice shout out to the Iceman on the telecast. Good job this morning Gary!

Thanks Jamie.......It was great to give Eddy The IceMan the credit he deserves for his efforts in growing our hobby BIG..It was nice that they let me advertise the weighoffs and worlds records of Ron and Joe too.........But we arent done yet.....EddyZ the pumpkin will be in the spotlight again when the Ronald McDonald House hosts a dinner and carving party Oct 24 and all the celebraties show up for the party......more TV.... I'm told they are trying to get some local professional sports players to carry EddyZ into the Ronald McDonald house for the kids and familes to enjoy that are less fortunate than me and you..... We hope it helps change a childs life, and brings a smile to their faces......I thank everyone on this site for giving me the motivation, chance and opportunity to promote our energies and hobby for others to enjoy.....Thanks to you others will be able to GrowZem BIG.....

LITTLETON - Gary Grande loves giant vegetables. In fact, he's president and CEO of the Rocky Mountain Giant Vegetable Growers Organization which is all abuzz over a 900 pound pumpkin that Gary's helped nurture in a closely guarded Littleton pumpkin patch. He even has a name for it. Eddie.
Eddie was named in honor of the guy who gave Grande the seeds for his orange monster. Grande will be entering Eddie in a big weigh-off later this month at Jared's Nursery, where it will be in contention with other humongous pumpkins. Grande says as impressive as his supersized squash is, there are even larger pumpkins lurking about in Colorado.
When Eddie's time in the spotlight is over, Grande plans to donate his pumpkin to the Ronald McDonald house so it can be carved into a giant jack-o-lantern for Halloween.
If you'd like to cheer Eddie on, or would like to enter your own mutant orange vegetable, here's everything you need to know:

I knew a bit more what to expect this time....there are were so many voices talking in my ear.....a few more than normal.....lol
But the noon version was really a great shout out for our club and the weigh off. I felt very fortunate to have the opportunity to promote what we do, for I really believe what we do is special. ItZ not "just a pumpkin".....
Wishing all the best success during this wonderful time of the year.......
