There is expected to be frost to night. I was wondering if pumpkins continued to gain any weight after there is frost and all the leaves are killed?

If you do get a frost, water the leaves to get the frost off. I've gotten plants to make it thru frosts using the sprinklers. I've turned them on in the middle of the night then again before sunrise. The wet leaves are harder to frost if they have heavy coat of moisture.
The Key from what I've read and heard is to wash the frost off before the SUN Melts it off. It's worked for me for a few FROSTS, but if you get a Hard FREEZE, all bets are off. kevin

Frost has got them all! I didn't read the post intime to try it out but thanks any ways. So will my pumpkins gain any weight now that the leaves have been frost killed?

yes, I've had them put on as much as 60# after frost has killed all the leaves. I would leave them in the patch and keep watering occasionally untill the weighoff.

thanks Brian, I guess I will leav them on a little longer. Will the rate of growth change much now that they have been frost killed?
