Okay, here is the correct board.. Here is my question..

I do not have access to AGGC, but was wondering what the heaviest to chart and lightest to chart (heck, average to chart also while you are at it) that 1502 Wallaces as the host plant have done? Just curious as to where all the 1502's have ended up. I know it has been pretty darn good, but what is the best, worst and average results to chart from that seed?

well, yours is a similar shape to this one:

http://bigpumpkins.com/DisplayPhoto.asp?pid=5269

so get out there and yell at yours to be more like it's sister, and we'll see if it thickens up any before it hits the scales.

Last year Börje Gustavsson from Sweden Growed a 1502 that became 1090 Gustavsson that was just on chart if i remember right.
that one growed for 125 days and was very round,a completely different shape from the 1470 Wallace.

My 1174 last year was grown of the 1502 and it taped 1044lbs(12,5% heavy). It was a white round ball.
This year i'm growing another and that one is more like the 1470 shape and colorwise. Unfortunately i lost the stump , and i need a little miracle to get it over 1000lbs.
Will grow another one next year.

159-97-96 was last years 1502. It was whitish yellow in color. This year the 1502 is orange with green tints. Measures currently 156-108-98.

I am growing a 1502 as well, so I have looked at the information:

1470 +15%, 1194 +16.28%, 1174 +9.83%, 1101 +20.35%, 1090 +1.16%, 1090 no info, 963 +7%, 954 est., 827 +15.45%, 825 +19.46%, 812 +8.85%, 768 -5.21%, 757 +18.08%, 609 + 15.32%,

So, the heaviest to the chart 1502 is +20.35%, the one and only under the chart 1502 pumpkin listed was -5.21%

Wow, thats a great record for the 1502. With all of those going heavy you would think it would only be natural and within the laws of probability that a few more would go light. I hope it isn't one of yours Rock.

Ned, Ned, Ned..... (shaking my head)...

I think this will be the first to go 100 percent heavy to chart...

I'll need all of that to get by your monster.... You are the man!

Ok. The 1502 is going to go heavy, the 998 with a narrow shape is going to go light and the 964 is a first timer out of the gate. How about we meet at Doubleday field for a brew to discuss the prize structure and settle it in Altoona.

Whats that ugly muffin measuring Rock.? Dyberry patch man and myself will be bringing a couple that are measuuring close right now as well. Maybe we can have an early bird special. I know my 845 is around the 700 pound mark. AHHHHHHH a cold brew at Doubleday talking smack with the Rock.... sounds like a good pumpkin day.

I wouldnt even call it a muffin, just a muffin top. I measured today, and this bad boy goes 158-86-81 or close to 700 by the charts. I know this baby is gonna go light because before the ass end flopped over on its bungho, itt was sucked up in pretty good at that point. I am sure there is about a basketball size under the fruit area that is not pumpkin.

Baseball, hotdogs, pumpkins and Sandercock smack.. doesnt get any better than that. THrow in the DYberry wonder and we got ourselves a good oldfashioned throw down, albiet down in 30th place or so at Cooperstown!

Another way to think about concave bottoms, and such, under the pumpkin, is that they could go heavier because it makes more surface area, than if it was a flat bottom. It would make a pumpkin heavier, assuming the wall of the pumpkin's concave area, would be the same thickness, as it would be if it were a flat bottom.

I like the way you are thinking Doug..

Looks like we are going to have a dog fight at Doubleday Field Rock! All 3 entries are going to measure close and with your ass end flopped over your bunho sounding heavy, anything could happen. I am hoping for my 845 (898 Knauss x 1174 Wallace) to go heavy as its long and low, and the Dyberry patch man is bringing an 898 Knauss to be weighed that has more lumps and bumps than Pamela Lee. Who cares if its for 30th place its going to be fun! Best throw in a few of those Samuel Adams and we'll bring some of our own Orchard Tea. Play Ball!!

More surface area would be true. Not much more, but some. The only problem is that even though your outside surface area will be larger, you are losing volume on the inside.

Big2Nut,
If these fruit were solid, inside volume would make a difference, but they have a large air space in the middle.
