This year our pumpkin is a bit deformed so we named it, MR. MERRICK and when we are in the patch we yell out his famous plea with a bit of creative license, "I am not an elephant! I am not an animal! I am NOT a vegetable! I am a FRUIT! I am an Atlantic Giant Pumpkin!"
We crack ourselves up.

We got into the habit of naming them so we could easily differentiate them when referring to them in discussions.

This year, we have a 985 Werner which is beastly looking, so I dubbed it "Bluto". The 1524.5 Liggett is "Bugly" because, as a young set, it was butt ugly. Two others, the 893 Privitera and the 1005 Mombert, are as yet unnamed.

Doctor Liggett's wife, Jo, named their new state record 1524.5 "Cream Puff" due to its cream color. It's fun to name them and certainly not wrong Wiz.
