Congrats Alan, I have always thought of you as my mentor, and enjoyed reading about your struggles to grow in tough condtions. Breaking the 1400 pound plateau is a great achievement. Eddy

Thanks everyone....it's much appreciated!! I've had difficulty getting pumpkins "over the charts" in the past, so this was a very pleasant surprise. Concerning the cross that some have asked, I'm afraid many will be disappointed because it's a mix pollination. 227 X (965 Pukos/1041 McKie). At the time there were no males in the patch and Joe (again) was nice enough to provide some. I believe it was 3 male flowers on the 965...followed by 1 flower from the 1041. It appeared there wasn't enough pollen after the 965, so I added the 1041 in hopes of a pollination. It was a case of "beggars can't be choosers". Thanks again for the nice words and good luck at the coming weigh-offs.
