Here in east central Indiana we had wids gusts right about 70 mph. The garden center at Home Depot where I work looked like a war zone with trees and plants blown everywhere.

it seems the wind put the nail in the coffin for some of my pumpkin plants that were already going down from PM. also found quite a few of my tomato and pepper plants knocked over, but ok otherwise. my neighbor had a couple of large branches break off and fly some 30-50 feet away from their trees right up to the fence between our property. some wicked wind for sure.

yup, nasty winds for the last 2 hours here, wind protection black plastic posts have broke and leaves/stems down.

oh well, PM got the best of this plant weeks ago, the fruit is ok and that is all that matters.

wow what a night....
we lost power a few times and we spent most of yesterday afternoon in the patch taking down canopies that were collapsed and trying to reconstruct any type of protection we could, only to have my hubby walk to the patch with flashlight at 11;30 pm and to see a 2'x8' piece of board had torn thru my fence and hit and gashed my biggest pumpkin right in the blossom end about a 2ft area and about an inch deep but has produced crack that is traveling... anyhow it has quite the wound all i can do now is pray and try to get it to heal.

Pumpkin leaves are leaning all over the place, and a few I know are gone, and were on their way out anyway. All new growth is ok. Our pool cover is on a reel underneath the diving board, the entire thing is now half floating in our pool, aside from that, lots of branches down, and the plastic that I had put over top of the pumpkins in case of rain, came off. Both pumpkins look ok, and that's the best I can hope for.

Hope everyone in Ike's path is ok.

Big trees down. No power close by. No school. Small barns and sheds gone. I think that is it. Up here we have nothing to complain about. Some people in texas have lost everything.

Ike turned NE and mailed us like three fluffy clouds. Hearing what it did as it went that-a-way... hope everyone's alright and the power comes back on soon.

Ike came here like a lion. 55-60 mph winds. Had 4'' of rain on Sat.
Lost my prettiest pumpkin.
Lost power for 12 hours, but back on now.
Seems really petty compared to what happened in Texas.

yep, we definitly have it better than the people in TX and the people that bore the true grunt of it...It just makes me truly thankful for the blessings we do have.

Just got my power back. It's been off since 2:30 Sunday.
Lost some shingles and tree limbs. My 1,500lb pumpkin blew away and is probably somewhere N.E. of here. Let me know if you find it. LOL

the road i take to school is still closed (but our school didnt close LOL). but most neighboring schools were off. driving home from bells tonight we saw lots of places still w/out power.

but yeah, i'll agree, it wasnt the same hurricane they dealt with down south (so we are lucky), but as far as hurricanes' affect on us, this was the worst it's been for a long time.

Ya gotta love Eddy's take on the matter. Still feel for Don's chicken though.

Glad everyone is OK.

No power here for five to seven days. I sent Lisa out to check the pumpkins and promptly left for engine school in Detroit. I can't communicate with her without phone service, so my stay in Detroit has been worry-free. Don't really want to go home.
