Dill ring?

My Friend, 123. A dill ring is a soft spot in a pumpkin. Growers to this day don't really know what they are or WHY they form. On the outside of a pumpkin the dill ring can be slight or very deep, kinda looks like a cavity on the surface. Once cut open were the dill ring is, the flesh of the pumpkin is not as thick . Alot of times a pumpkin will crack or split at the dill ring spot, because of the weak wall I mentioned above. Its a weak spot in the pumpkins wall. Hope it helps.

its an internal split that grows like a wedge inside the fruit. its is associated with the rapid growth that we experience today verses several years ago when the weights and daily gains were much less once the internal split (or wedge ) meets a rib she is going to blow
