As I know there are a lot of events around the Ludwigsburg castle / in the castle park through the year. One of these events is the pumkin exhibition, which is organised by an swiss organisation (http://www.blueba.de/Veranstaltungen/Kuerbis/kuerbis.html , http://www.juckerfarmart.ch/). these pumkins are grown by commercial farmers, but the exhibition includes a pumkin regatta, the german championship weigh off ( 5.Oct.) and a so called European Championship weigh off.(12.Oct). Last Year this Championship was live in the regional TV.
