This is very long winded but there are some veru facinating techniquics revealed deep into the article. Such as microwaving seeds to increase germination!

http://www.savingourseed.org/pdf/SeedProcessingandStorageVer_1pt3.pdf

Brief microwave treatment:
"When seeds are subjected to a brief exposure of microwaves they respond with enhanced germination.
This treatment must be carefully controlled, is appropriate only for small seed lots.......I have successfully used this
treatment on a lot of low-germination pepper seed, using an exposure time of 15 seconds to increase the germination by about 25%......The procedure involves placing a thin layer of seed in the center of the microwave oven and microwaving for approximately 10 to 30 seconds depending on the size and water content of the seed. Sunflower seed, when subjected to 30 seconds of microwave treatment, germinates faster than nonmicrowaved
seeds,"

fast way to roast your seeds. Should be able to eat in 1-2 minutes. If you don't mind I won't try this on my next 869.5 Calai.

Experimenting with test germs this way will give us something to do between weigh-offs and Niagara...maybe it'll help with the cabin fever...
