I am presuming that the 1" hole in the base of my pumpkin is a BAD thing? The fruit is 216# and I noticed today that there was a whole in the flower end. There were also a couple of small splits near the stem. Should I call it a season and wait until next year or wait and see what happens? Need Help!!!

If you can poke a straw through to the cavity in any of those splits the season is pretty much over....not sure what your calling the base....but if its a critter hole through the bottom..it probably is already reaping your seeds and it's definitly over...Probably the biggest problem with growing pumpkins is waiting..I shoulda's always gets us....I shoulda buried the vine...I shoulda sprayed yesterday..I shoulda put that sand down...Hey I'm guilty of it to...can always get it tomorrow...I shoulda done it today!! Check those splits out..it's never to late till they hit the cavity. Good Luck! GrowEmBig! Chuck
