sulphate of potash 0-0-50
I was wondering if the granular form of this could be ground up real fine and dissolved in water or at least suspended in water. I would like to use my pump sprayer to apply. I think this would be easier for me than trying to crawl around under the plants dispersing it...Plus my leaf canopy tends to distribute water directly down the leaves to the nodes - and not so much to the very surface of the soil -which make me think it would be hard for the pellets to break down. Anyone have any ideas about this? or a suggested application rate? Tremor?
I was thinking that i could apply one tablespoon per gallon - two gallons at a time for 1500 sguare feet. Maybe once a week .. I thought i would just spray the whole plant..then rinse the leaves with the hose.
Maybe slighty higher concentrations each week from now until the end? what do ya think?
P.S my soil test - taken in June said I had 560ppm K...This is in the HIGH range, but i still think at the very end they could use just a little help...?
Thoughts?

SOP is sold in both granular for spreading & fine milled for spraying. I suppose if you have the time & eqipment you can grind or mill it youself.

Thanks Tremor, I have a bag of the granular already. I don't plan on using very much this fall. But i don't seem to find much information on application rates for a diluted water application. Any suggestions?

I think i have found some information. The suggested foliar rate for at least one manufacturer is 4% solution
That is by weight. So for each gallon that would look like this - 1 gal of water 8.3 lbs x 16 (to convert to ounces) = 132.8 ounces x .o4 (how many ounces is required to make a 4% solution) = 5.3 ounces per gallon...
That seems pretty high to me for a very "available nutrient". I think I am going to go with about 1 tablespoon per gallon each week for the next five weeks...
I am spraying kelp each week as well which is 0-0-4...Plus some compost tea with mollasses (which has some potash in it as well...
So...here we go... Anyone see any obvious flaws in the plan..lol?
