I am just curious. Please post your favorite weigh-off site. I cannot decide where to go and I would like to see what others think. I guess you could say this question is pretty much directed toward growers in the northeast. Even if you are from another part of the country or even the world, put you place up. You never know, there may be somebody like me somewhere else.

If I could get away to go I'd love to go to Topsfield Fair. Looks like a good time. However, Cooperstown is a consideration this year, but it's a bit of a hike. Still undecided, regardless I think Oswego is the place to go. Nice festival, good folks running that weigh off. Very nice, a bit small and the parking lot is pretty tight for the weigh off, but very nice.

Topsfield is a great weigh off. If your a first timer and want to meet a bunch of heavy hitters, that's the place to go

I am a first timer too......well at least to growing with good genetics. I've never been to one yet, but if mine keeps up its pace and ends up taping around 500lbs or better I may have to go to the one here in Roland, Manitoba, if I am not working.

The best weighoff in the middle of the country HAS to be the Ryan Norlin Memorial Weighoff at the Anamosa Pumpkinfest. This year is the 20th anniversary. Lots of other activities over 2 days. We were #2 last year and there may just be a #1 hiding somwhere out in the corn this year.

My favorite would have to be Circleville. It is the self-proclaimed pumpkin capital of the world.

I first started growing AG's with the goal of someday winning at Circleville. It is the most exciting weigh-off I've ever been a part of, with the crowd size making it so. The county shuts down for four days in October.

I would say Circleville, if it was open to anyone other than locals. As far as favorite open weigh-offs, I am going to three new ones this year, so I will have to tell you later ;-). Currently, I think the Indy Fair is my favorite.

Of the NY sites, I like Cooperstown, Elmira, and Pumpkinville (in no particular order).

Of the others I have traveled to, I would say the ovgpg weighoff is tough to beat.

I think a lot of these opinions are biased LOL. It's nice that so many people like their local weighoffs. Actually I think it's the people, and the comeraderie that make the weighoffs fun, so I'm picking Delano, Stillwater, and Austin, MN....these are the ones I've been to.

With over 50 growers in attendance, it's like having a growers seminar during the weigh off. Seeing all our friends with their best pumpkin of the season is a real treat. The other Ontario weigh offs are all good also, but PE stands out above them. They have great local support from the community, plus there's a kids area, flea market, a huge car show & many other family oriented events on at the same time. Fun for the whole family. My favorite smaller weigh off is Wellington. The parade before the weigh off is a lot of fun.
