Even the sun shines on a dogs rear evey once in a while. It is raining pretty good here and since It has been dry here this should help. I am actually thankful that the temps are a little cooler right now. Hopefully that will prevent an eplosion after the rain. BUT, the thing that has gone right is that with the rain today and all my cleanup and stuff I did yesterday, I will not get in trouble for spending the whole day in the patch on my first anniversary!!!!! Just gonna check 'em quick and then spend the day with the wife.

The pumpkins will be gone before you know it. The wife will be there for what seems like forever. Spend the day with your pumpkins!!!!

A 7 x 7' lifting tarp, can resemble a romantic 2 person Hammock. It worked for my 25th, until the 1st Weigh-off. kevin

We will give you an exemption there, first anniversary. [congrats!] Get her hooked so next year you two can spend a romantic day in the patch then do stuff like 'shower with a friend' :) [I'm 26th and counting here... and still doing stuff like that, heh]

Yep get the other half hooked, that is the best way for quality time. It works great here, investigate the pumpkins for cracks, splits, etc, set timer so they get proper water, make sure the vines are in good shape so pumpkins won't be too stressed. Cover pumpkins at night, and you do need 2 people to do a proper measurement. All good fun. We celebrated 16 years on Friday.

Good advice from all. I am already working on it. As for the cover @ nite, I have mine covered all day because I do not want them to ripen too quickly as two have been starting to turn orange. Have I been slowing my growing by having them covered all day? my growth has slowed alot, but the temps have been in the mid 70's and that is what I am blaming it on. Am I wrong?
