I have a pumpkin that is 150# and it has a lot of small little slits near the stem. Some of them are oozing and some have dried up. I also have a small cut int the base of the same fruit and it has ooze coming from it as well. The pumpkin doesn't seem to be rotting. Just looking for some answers, thenks

Pretty much got the same thing going on here with no worries. Stem end should be pretty thick. Not a bad idea to have a mini fan available to dry out any splits that seem to be taking too much time to heal up. You could dust any suspect areas w/Captan or other fungicide just to be on the safe side. Good luck, Duff

I have seen that many times. The ooze is the pumpkin's natural waty to fight off infection. A light coat of straight daconil will also prevent any fungus from entering the would.
