This is my 3rd year growing ANY sort of garden and I'm pretty pumped so I thought I have the right to be a little happy right?? Seed is my own 672 and it's crossed with the 998 so I'm really pumped for next year. As of now the fruit is on pace to exceed 1200 by the first of Sept which was my goal coming into the year (1200++ at finish). This is pretty cool.
Thanks to everyone that's helped me along the way!!!

Congratulations. Just remember to not get too happy yet. I have read alot of heartbreaking stories on this site this year. First year grower here. I am just glad that I have been getting growth, even though it is slow as hell due to the lower temps.

Thanks everyone, but this fruit is already a DMG fruit...or at least I'm 99% sure it it. Blossom end split at about 600#. Never slowed down and I'm growing it till the end if I can!

Congrats Chris. I hope she keeps plugging away for you. It must be exciting, especially as it's grown from your own seed. Too bad she split...maybe next year will be your year.

Richard, you saw my 672 at Stillwater last year. 1030 Armstrong x 1231 Pukos. It was almost half as big as the Marsh fruit! :)
The 1030 has proven heavy and trouble free while the 1231 speaks for itself. Now with the 998 introduced you can see why I'm excited.

Chris, nice job and congrats! I have also had a 1157 lber split last week(projected at 1500-1600lbs)...they're fun to watch as they gain like no tomorrow...also had a 1290 Poirier split at 869 lbs..both were gaining 30+ lbs a day. You might consider harvesting seeds as if you wait to long it will be rotting bad inside...once air gets in. I've harvested seeds from a very soupy pumpkin so just an fyi. I'm drying the seeds from both of my splits ;-). In fact, I had a 772 Poirier also split young and a 305 Beachy split young (487lbs)..so Kevin..I feel for you...hopefully we'll have something to bring to market! It might be a Wyatt :-).

That's too bad Dave. I thought 672 was big, but 1157 last week is unreal!

If the split doesn't go into cavity, you are still in the running for a qualifying fruit.
Nice job.
