Today my Father went to the Doctors to see if the 5 weeks of Kemo and radiation shrunk his tumor in his esophagus which was is in stage 3 cancer. They wanted to try to shrink it so it would be easier to take out. My father went into his treatments weighing right around 205 lbs, and during his treatments and up into last week it brought his weight down to 125lbs.
The tumor in his esophagus was so large that there was no possible way they could do anything at the time, it was also so big that he couldn't eat , so unless they could shrink it, there was no other way to take it out. The tumor was so large, if they did attempt to take it out at the time it would have taken to much of his esophagus with it for any chance of survival.
Well, today the entire family was on pins and needles, we(and the doctors) was atleast hoping that the kemo/radiation would shrink his tumor small enough so he could still have a fighting chance for them to remove it.

After my Dad came out of the anesthesia today from the scope, the doctor look at him and said, THERE IS NO CANCER THERE NO MORE, IT LOOKS LIKE A NORMAL ESPHOGUS.!!

Im not sure who all prayed for him on here but I wanted to thank everyone of you! If any of you know about esophagus cancer the survival rate isnt that good, and its a terrible terrible way to die.
I have never been much of a miracle believer before, and never was much on going to church and following the right path, but I think this is going to change things for me now!!LOL This just goes to show you there is a God, and he does do Miracles. I'm still in a cloud as we speak, its like I'm in a dream or something.
First thing my Dad said to me was, I don't know why god thinks I'm so deserving, but he does, I really don't think I deserve this, there is other people out there that has lived there life a lot better then I have with God. I looked at him and said, would you shut the hell up, god has a plan for you, its not your time to go yet, lol!

Thanks again everyone for the prayers and emails, been a tough year but today made it all worth wild. I prayed to god every night for my Dad, for him to give him and I a little more time together, especially in the patch!,lol He sure did answer my prayers that's for sure. Miracles do happen!

Thanks again everyone for the prayers. Dads computer is going to be back up on line in the next couple days, his email hasnt changed.

Great news Brooks! Cancer treatment is very hard on the body. Both my parents had cancer, both did chemo and radiation It is a very hard thing to go through, It is hard for the patient and the family both. You want to help in some way when they are so sick, but you feel helpless cause there is really nothing you can do. The treatment does affect the body, the spirit. It becomes so hard for people to focus and remain positive going thru all the side affects of the treatment.

When you hear of a positive outcome it gives hope to others who are going thru the very same thing.

I had cancer 10 years ago when I was 28-years-old. The miracles I saw at that time are to long to put in a posting but they certainly were real. Cancer was the toughest time of my whole life and the best time of my whole life. From it I learned many invaluable lessons. It makes pumpkin growing even sweeter because you learn just how valuable life can be. Congrats to both you and your father.

Wow! I cant wait till Dad reads this thread! Thanks to everyone!!!

This thread really got me thinking about all the people on here who really care about each other, believe it or not, this site holds a lot of a tit knit group of people on it, that really look after each other, and that's one thing I really liked about this site when I joined almost 6 years ago. We all still might fight, argue, and even be mad at each for a while and say things we shouldn't to each other, but in the end we all still end up friends.
Thanks everyone for caring.

Praise God! Brooks, I'm very happy for you and your Dad. We both have Dad's who were in trouble. My father had 5 by-passes 1 month ago. And, then one week after that had his galbladder removed. I'm thankful because He's home and better now. I'm happy for you and especially thankful that God blessed you and your Dad!

Well I kinda know the emotions you were going through only our family has been as blessed. This year we've lost 2 uncles and in July lost a very special mother in law (step father is a pastor) to Pancritis she passed in just under two weeks time it has been quite an emotional roller coaster. So it is GREAT!! to hear about the miracle that has been bleesed upon you. I am a christ follower and truly think that the is a higher power at work. Congrats and I hope for continued health of your father.
