I just noticed mouse damage to a couple of my pumpkins. They have chewed some skin off around the size of a dollar bill. Traps have been set, just wondering what to do to the chewed area?

Keep the chewed spots dry, or coat them with captain powder or pain them with straight daconil to prevent rot. If they weren't chewed too deep, they will heal. My best one right now has a huge scar from a groundhog attact, painted with daconil.

if you can you'll want to check under your pumpkins now to make sure the mice haven't tunneled inside them.

Thanks for the info. Caught 3 so far with 16 taps set. They look like a cross between a rat and a field mouse. Dark in color, 3X the size of a field mouse but not as big as a rat.
