Once you have received 3+" of rain over 3 cloudy dayZ when would one expect the most growth on the pumpkins to take place?? .....Once it gets warm back to 85 in a few dayZ? or when the sun appears back the following morning.....? When is the chance of splitting the greatest?
We want to kick in the foliar spray again this time with a bigger spoon........

That sounds good to me. I saw one inch of growth from Saturday noon to Sunday noon. I'm looking forward to temperatures in the 80s today. I need that pumpkin to start growing again.

The circumference on my largest increased 9.5" between the Aug. 11th and the 17th. "Up" here in the Springs at my garden there has been a run of 11 days with measureable rainfall during these past 13 days ! I have not run my lawn sprinklers or taken the garden hose to my crops during that time. August is the monsoon season along our Front Range, and this annual pattern did not disappoint. (What a relief from the parching dry heat of July !) I expect our return to clear skies and mid-80's temps this week to accelerate growth of all things.
I did apply some liquid fertilizers to my pumpkins, corn, tomatoes and squashes to compensate for the definite leaching-out that our rain events have enabled. I want my crops to have their nutrients as this sun once again cranks up their metabolism. I have one green zuch (the first one that plant produced) that is approaching the size of my thigh !

I'm about 2 miles east of Exit 150, near Union and Research Blvd., at 6840 ft. of elevation. The fall frost will likely hit me before it hits you. I don't have a dense cover large enough to protect my plants when that night comes along.
Can the pumpkin still take in food and grow larger via stems and roots.....even if the leaves have been crisped by frost ? !

I know that last year after I cut my pumpkin for the weigh off I stopped watering the patch. However the plant kept growing and created large cracks in the soil, I mean cracks that where 1/2 inch wide everywhere....But Im thinking once those leave freeze, its pretty much done. It looks like nuclear holocosts after a frost. I hate it, itZ the worst time of the year for me........For light frosts you can setup an overnight mister that could help keep some of the early frosts from ending your year........PerHaps IceMan haZ some other tricks to try........

I have one pumpkin growing and I could bring it to Denver on the bus more than likely Gary. It needs to gain 150 lbs just to bring it to Old Town. I will be there with or without a pumpkin bro.
