Greetings, First post this year. Thanks to all contributors, I love this place.
Here's a question about culling or keeping. I've got a nice, healthy plant with a couple pumpkins on the main vine at 12' and 16' from the stump. I plan on keeping the 12' going, but should I cull the 16' pumpkin? or let them battle it out? Will 2 pumpkins that close on the main vine really deplete the others growth spurt?
Thanks all...

DEpends on what you want. If you want 2 nice size pumpkins, keep both. If you want one huge one, keep the best one and cull the other. Make your decision before they get too big or you might as well keep both.

if your intention is to keep the one at 12 ft then leaving a second at 16 ft for a couple more dayss or even a week is not a big deal the one at 12 ft should be sucking up most of the juice and be bigger than the one at 16 i would presume?

The idea is the "big one". 16' pumpkin is now culled, and sitting on the porch. Thanks, good luck everyone.
