My neighbor was just out in the pasture by my patch spraying thistles. The winds are light and spwirling. Some of his application was only about 40' from my best plant. I couldn't smell any 2-4-D, but my sinuses and nose have been a mess for 2 months. Would it help to spray the plants to wash off anything that might drift in?

I rinsed them off twice and may do it again tomorrow afternoon if it gets hot. It won't hurt, as it has gotten just a little dry the past couple of weeks. I know how sensitive ag's are to 2-4-D and how it can volitalize in hot weather. Hopefully he used something like Grazon which doesn't have 2-4-D.

Got to have a one on one relationship with they neighbors. Explain the hours, and the attachment we have to these pumpkins..Have them tell you when they are spraying.

In my experience 2-4-D works very quickly. If you don't notice wilt the next day you should be ok. DON'T ASK :)
